  William Henry Latham

Bill Latham born in Wisbech, 2nd of April 1925.

 

Only son of Fred (Pop) Latham and Margaret Latham (ne Eason) and brother to Nancy, Margaret and Patricia.

 

Like his father, Bill was a kind and generous man who served his country during WW2 aboard Navy Drifters converted for the dangerous task of removing mines from the shipping lanes around the British Isles and in the Far East.

 

He did his initial training at HMS Excalibur in Cheshire and served aboard Minesweepers operating in the "Battle of the Atlantic" and in the Far East fighting the Japanese, stationed in both Australia and Hong Kong.
